July 11th - Roatan Honduras

We woke early to get off the ship by 7:30 and meet the lady who would take us to the Monkey and Sloth "Hangout". She told us a bit about Roatan and how they speak a strange English creole dialect. Apparently they speak English at home etc but learn Spanish in school.

Anyway, we got to hold sloths and had little monkeys jumping around and digging in pockets or grooming heads. It was really different and will be a highlight for the trip.

We also saw some parrots and one shit on us so that's fun.

After that we took a barge out a couple kms to the reef for snorkeling. The snorkeling was really good and there were angelfish, needlefish, puffer fish, spiny lobsters, and even a barracuda. There were also sea urchins, sand dollars, sea cuccumbers, and living star fish (they're big spiny spiders sort of).

The barge took us to spend some time at French Cay and were there for a bit. Really relaxing and the beach and water were great. The lady in charge there sold us some key lime pie that she makes to sell and it was really really good.

We both got sunburnt at some point in the day before returning to the ship.
